When to Visit
The Sweetest Place on Earth hosts a month-long celebration in honor of all things chocolate. They believe that Chocolate makes the world go round and it deserves to be commemorated accordingly. Events include chocolate-inspired dinners, food & spirit packages, dessert buffets, truffle-making classes, decadent spa treatments and more.
Enjoy 7 days of delicious deals on menus filled with $20 2-course lunches and $35 2-course dinners! Visit a different restaurant each day for distinctive meals, quality service, and sweet touches of Hershey hospitality.
The Wine & Food Festival is usually held in the Fall and is perfect for a girl’s weekend away and includes numerous activities like comedy shows, a session on winemaking, wine & cheese tastings, dinners, entertainment, etc. There is a cost associated with each activity.
This race provides runners the unique opportunity to run through Hershey and past many attractions including Farenheit, Wildcar and Skyrush. This event is usually held in the Spring timeframe and benefits numerous charities in the Central Pennsylvania.
This Half Marathon benefits Children’s Miracle Network at Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital and is held in the October timeframe each year. This is a 13.1 mile tour of Hershey, PA with several memorable locations along the way including Hersheypark, Milton Hershey school, Chocolate Avenue and more.
I’ve never been to any of these events but I am excited to check out a few. They’ve been recommended to me by some of the locals and they truly enjoy them.
Where to Stay

This is a 30,000-square-foot indoor pool complex that includes Twizzler’s Twists water slides, a Reese’s Water Walk adventure, a zero-entry pool, sandcastle spray zone, lighthouse tipping bucket, splash pad, basketball hoops and more.
The Hershey Lodge is a wonderful, family-friendly resort with an amazing indoor pool complex that provides fun and entertainment for the entire family. There are also numerous restaurants (some highlighted below) that are fantastic for a family night or even a date night!!
This camping resort features more than 300 sites, including 46 cabins (log and deluxe) with amenities ranging from rustic to deluxe (indoor plumbing, showers, heat/air conditioning, refrigerator, microwave, etc.), basic sites and RV sites featuring partial to full hook up (electric, water, sewer, cable TV).
You’ll receive exclusive VIP benefits including the best prices on Hersheypark tickets and shuttle service to Hersheypark. During the summer and fall, guests will enjoy activities such as movie nights, and live entertainment. Opening May 11, 2017, this restaurant is located in the lobby of Hershey Lodge. Fire & Grain will serve an innovative breakfast and dinner menu of completely re-mastered comfort food featuring appetizers, entrees, drinks and desserts.

This restaurant located at Hershey Lodge features seasonal menu with a fresh focus on culinary details and creative flavor combinations. Hershey Grill serves breakfast, lunch, and dinner, and features house-made sauces and specialties. Attire is resort casual.
What to Do
This is also known as The Chocolate Spa that offers everything from traditional to chocolate and Cuban-inspired treatments. This spa is a three-story 30,000-square-foot European-style spa overlooking The Hotel’s formal gardens and reflecting pools. The Spa at Hotel Hershey provides more than 64,000 spa treatments per year. The spa is famous for its signature chocolate treatments but also offers traditional spa treatments.
121 acre themepark that is among the most respected in the amusement park industry. It is home to more than 70 rides and attractions, including 25 kiddie rides and a water park, The Boardwalk at Hersheypark. They have seasonal features such as Springtime in the Park, Summer Season, September Weekends, Hersheypark in the Dark, and Hersheypark Christmas Candylane. Hersheypark is closed January-March and open for weekends beginning in early May and daily from late May through Labor Day. Hersheypark offers a number of ticket packages, Season Pass options, meal and game plans and more.

ZooAmerica admission is included in your Hersheypark admission. It is a year-round, 11 acre, walk-through zoo adjacent to Hersheypark. The Zoo is home to more than 200 animals representing 65 species and five regions of North America. They offer behind-the-scenes tours (for an additional cost) and began more than 100 year ago with Milton S. Hershey’s private collection. ZooAmerica is open year-round except Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day.

The Hershey Story museum experience takes visitors on a journey through his life, his chocolate company, his generous philanthropic legacy and the town of Hershey, PA. Engaging museum exhibits explore Mr. Hershey’s early failures, how he successfully revolutionized the process of making milk chocolate, and how the orphan boys of the Hershey Industrial School became heirs to his fortune. Further, you can taste chocolate from around the world and visit the Chocolate Lab to learn all about chocolate.
Enjoy a fun hockey game with friends at the Giant Center! The Hershey Bears are an American professional ice hockey team based in Hershey, Pennsylvania. The Bears currently serve as the primary development club for the NHL’s Washington Capitals and have been since the 2005-06 season.
