10 Ways to Find 10 Minutes for Yourself Daily
There is no denying that life is hectic and finding time for yourself can be hard. But the truth is, finding time to refocus, relax, and recharge is important to both your physical and your mental health. If you have been struggling with finding time for yourself, here are 10 ways to find 10 minutes for yourself daily. Sneaking in pockets of time is completely possible as long as you plan ahead. Here is what you need to know!
1. Keep reading materials in the car.
This is perfect for when you are stuck in traffic, at the school pick up line, or if you are going into an appointment. Having reading materials (bonus if it is inspirational reading!) on you always gives you the chance to sit, read, and relax.
2. Carry a journal and pen with you.
How many times have you been stuck in traffic or a doctor’s waiting room and use the time to scroll through your phone? Instead, use this time for YOU and journal. Write down your goals, create a bucket list, try your hand at poetry, or journal everyday happenings.
3. Grow something.
When you grow plants, herbs, or flowers, this gives you the chance to care for something and spend some time alone doing so. Take the time to grow something, and this gives you the chance each day to care for the plants and enjoy them in your surroundings. Just 10 minutes tending to your plants daily can make a huge difference.
4. Cuddle with a pet.
This is beneficial for both of you! When you take the time to cuddle with a pet it can lower your blood pressure and actually release healthy endorphins. Take ten minutes each day to brush your pet and cuddle with him or her. It can help them feel great and helps you too!
5. Create a prayer or meditation station.
Create a small station in your house to pray or meditate in. This can be just a small table covered in a cloth with a candle and some reading materials. This is a great way to make the time to read and pray, meditate and reflect. Ten minutes in this space daily can make a huge difference.
6. Don’t take work to bed with you.
When you take work to bed with you, you prevent your brain from shutting down as it should. You don’t want your brain to correlate your bedroom with work but instead relaxation. Don’t take work or work papers to bed with you or ever work from bed. Instead, keep clutter of all kinds out of your room and save it for reading and resting instead. Those ten minutes prior to resting your head can make all the difference.
7. Enjoy a hot shower.
Sometimes a quick shower is all you need to feel your best. Take ten minutes to enjoy a peaceful shower daily. Give kids books or electronics to occupy them during this time and feel no guilt in taking these minutes to refresh yourself.
8. Wake up a few minutes earlier.
Wake up ten minutes earlier than you usually do. This quiet time before you wake everyone else up can make a huge difference in how your day goes. You will feel more prepared, alert, and your day will get off to a great start.
9. Go tech free for ten minutes.
Take ten minutes a day to go tech free. This means turning all electronics off and using this time to pray, meditate, get a power nap in, read, or do whatever else you wish!
10. Walk away during commercials.
When commercials are on don’t just stare at the screen. Instead, use those minutes to get small tasks done, read, exercise, or find time to do things for yourself that you normally put off. Those minutes can add up!
Are you ready to start finding more time for yourself each day? Give these 10 ways to find 10 minutes for yourself daily so you can start finding the time you need to relax and unwind.

I really like these ideas. Going tech free for ten minutes, just walking away during commercials, cuddling with my cats.... And I'm so looking forward to growing season!! We've had some unusually warm weather the past week here in Michigan and its giving me spring fever!!

I love these tips. My personal favorite is not taking work to bed with me. It is my time to relax, unwind and fall asleep.
