5 Frugal Valentine’s Day Date Night “In” Ideas

Valentine’s Day is a day to celebrate the love you have for your significant other. Many people buy gifts or go out for a nice dinner or a movie. However, there are numerous ways to celebrate without even leaving the house or spending much money.

5 Frugal Valentine’s Day Date Night “In” Ideas

#1. Take a Trip Down Memory Lane

Do you remember your very first date with your special someone? Likely the way you remember it, is slightly different than the way your spouse remembers it. After a nice meal at home, get out some paper and jot down the details of your first date. Have your significant other do the same. Then share with one another all the details of how it all began.

#2. Camp Out in Your Living Room

Instead of spending the night in bed, plan on having your slumber elsewhere in the house. Set up the air mattress in the basement, or pull your mattress into the living room, and play your favorite board game while you camp out. Maybe even throw in a movie and enjoy a bowl of popcorn before bed.

#3. Have a Nerf Gun War

Leave a loaded Nerf gun and a note right inside the door before your loved one gets home. Hide in another room and ambush them, while they are searching for you. Whoever loses must clean up the dinner that you will both prepare together.

#4. Make Homemade Pizza Together

Skip the Italian restaurant, and knead your own dough, while listening to romantic music on your phone. Pick your favorite toppings to add to your pizza. Then sip on your favorite drink as you reminisce about your early dating days, while the pizza is baking. I don’t know about you, but homemade pizza is awesome and always makes for a great date night in.

#5. Create a Collage

It is always fun to go through old photographs together. Pick your favorites (make sure you have duplicates) and cut around them. Glue them to a piece of card stock, and put it in a shadow box, with a few trinkets, like ticket stubs from your first movie together. Creating a collage like this allows the love you share to be passed down from generation to generation. Sometimes it’s hard to capture the love you have for each other because life gets crazy, but this is a great way to slow down and capture it all.

Being frugal on Valentine’s Day is nothing to be embarrassed about. Instead, embrace it and have fun.

These are such cute and fun ideas, thanks for sharing! My husband's Birthday is actually on Valentines Day, so we don't usually celebrate it. We always spend it at home with the kids, enjoying my homemade dinner and cake. :) But I definitely want to have a Nerf gun war with the whole family now lol.

It is so important to keep some excitement in our lives. Not everyone has the money to go out and do something special. These are some great suggestions. Thank you so much for sharing. God Bless
