7 Items the Workout Newbie Will Need in 2018

If you have decided that this is the year take charge of your health, then kudos to you! That is wonderful news! There are some items that every person needs when working out.

7 Items the Workout Newbie Will Need in 2018

#1. A Good Pair of Shoes

Working out in crummy six-year-old shoes will not do your body any good. Make sure to get a new pair of kicks that will give your feet proper support. This will help prevent extra soreness that beginners often experience.

#2. Comfortable Clothing

Breathable clothing is the best attire to wear while working out. You will still be able to work up a sweat, but you will also be more flexible as the fabric is not as constricting as cotton. These pants are perfect for working out and I love these kinds of shirts.

#3. A Playlist

You will want to have an upbeat playlist to keep you motivated during a workout. Listening to music is also great for encouragement, because sometimes when you think you just cannot go any further, you can push yourself by telling yourself to keep going through the end of a song, or even through two more songs.

#4. Water Bottle

Dehydration can lead to heat exhaustion, so it is essential to stay hydrated while working out. The more you sweat, the more water you should be drinking, so keep a water bottle handy each time you work out.

#5. A Towel

Sweat is going to happen. It is nothing to be embarrassed about, but you do want to keep a towel handy to keep from dripping all over. It is also courteous to wipe down any equipment after you have used it, so it is clean for the next person.

#6. Gym Bag

You will want an easy way to store your clothes, water bottle, and other personal belongings while working out. Get a bag to keep everything together. It does not have to be anything fancy, just make sure that it is washable.

#7. Small Protein Snack

You will not want to eat a huge meal after working out, but it is a great idea to keep a small protein snack on hand to refuel your body. A banana and some peanut butter, a turkey and cheese sandwich, or a protein shake are great examples of an acceptable snack.

These are great things to have when working out. I definitely need a playlist! I have to get back to a workout routine after baby #3 comes and I need some new workout clothes and some music to get motivated.

You're very welcome, they are certainly all essentials. As for the gym bag, I prefer one that has a pocket for my shoes and socks and also one that is washable or easily cleaned.
