All About Disney’s All Star Movies Value Resort
We recently took a trip to Disney World and while we were planning we decided that we wanted to stay on Disney property but we weren’t entirely sure if it was in our budget. We started browsing through Disney’s value resort line up.
Disney’s Value Resorts include Pop Century, Art of Animation, and the All Star Resort, made up of All Star Sports, All Star Music, and All Star Movies resorts.
After combing through the options, we landed on the All Star Movies Resort. We felt like this best fit our needs, budget, and personalities! Today we are going to be sharing with you our experience, what you can expect during your stay, and our honest opinion of the resort!
Where is Disney’s All Star Movies Resort located?
The All Star resort is located in the Animal Kingdom resort area at Disney World and the All Star Movie Resort specifically is located all the way in the back of the All Star Resort area.
How Much Does It Cost To Stay at Disney’s All Star Movies Resort?
Disney’s value resorts are the most affordable resorts on Disney property, you can expect to pay around $200 per night on average, although costs may vary depending on seasonal peaks and the nights that you will be staying.
What to Expect During your Stay at Disney’s All Star Movies Resort
Let’s get into just what you can expect during your stay at All Star Movies Resort. We will cover everything from start to finish including checking in, hotel amenities, on site services, and more!
Checking In For Your Stay
While there is a front desk area that will be more than happy to help you get checked in and ready to go to your room, with the My Disney Experience app, you can check in and head straight to your room without the need to stop at the front desk at all.
Simply download the “Disney World” app and sign into your Disney account, select “check in”, and the app will show you your room number and give you the access to unlock your door. Check in is typically at 3:00 pm but if you notify the resort that you have arrived early they will do their best to accommodate you and have your room ready early.
We arrived in Orlando around 10:30 am and we notified the hotel that we were in the area and they were able to have our room ready for us by noon!
Resort Theme
You will be assigned to one of five resort areas during your stay, these include The Mighty Ducks, 101 Dalmatians, Fantasia, The Love Bug and Toy Story. Each area features decor and fun activities that are themed based on the movie the area was inspired by. For example, in the Toy Story area you will see huge figurines of characters such as Buzz and Woody. To my knowledge, you aren’t able to choose a specific area as the rooms are randomly assigned.
Access to your Room
You won’t need to keep track of a hotel key card during your stay! As long as you have either your mobile phone or Magic Band, you can unlock your room with just a little bit of magic. If you’re using your Magic Band you will simply touch the Mickey on your band to the Mickey on your door lock and it will unlock. When using your smartphone, you will go into the My Disney Experience app and choose “unlock door”, then place your phone on the reader on your door and you will unlock your door by magic!
Room Types
There are two options as far as room types at the All Star Movies Resort, these include the Standard Room option and the Preferred Room. Each room will include 1 King Bed or 1 Queen Bed and 1 Queen-Size Table Bed. The only difference between the rooms is the location, in a preferred room you will be closer to the hotel amenities including Cinema Hall, dining, and transportation services.
We stayed in a standard room and it was lovely! In our room we had a Queen size bed, flat screen tv, refrigerator, coffee maker, and a beautiful bathroom with a detached toilet/shower.
In Room Services at Disney’s All Star Movies
As a Disney resort guest you will receive full housekeeping services every other day for the duration of your stay. During this visit they will completely change your bed sheets, provide fresh towels and toiletries (if needed), and take out any trash in the room. You don’t have to request this service, it is automatically scheduled for you.
If you need anything additional, you can use the Hey Disney service available in your room. Hey Disney is a service that is partnered with Alexa to provide a magical service inside your resort room. With Hey Disney you can request additional items such as toilet paper, towels, toiletries, etc. , ask Hey Disney for Park Hours/information, and even play fun games!
On Site Activities and Amenities
Outside of your room there are a number of on site amenities for you to enjoy during your stay! These make for great options if you are taking a day off from the park and just want to relax at the resort.
Amenities include:
- Fantasia Pool and the Duck Pond Pool – There are two pools on site that make for a fun time spending the day in the Florida sun!
- The Reel Spot – Just outside the World Premier Food Court you will find the Reel Spot, a small theater where you can enjoy simple and quiet screenings of Disney classics, sports events, and more.
- Playground – If your kiddos need to get out some energy, there is a playground onsite that features plenty of fun activities including climbing, slides, and more. You can find the playground located between Fantasia and Toy Story.
- Reel Fun Arcade – If you’re looking for fun indoors, be sure to check out the Reel Fun Arcade! Here there are dozens of fun arcade games for you and the family to enjoy. You can purchase a game card and play for hours. This is a great way to have some fun if you’re experiencing colder or rainy weather that doesn’t allow you to play outside.
- Walt Disney World Transportation – One of the greatest benefits to staying at Disney Resort is the chance to utilize Disney transportation to travel around the property. There is a bus service that will take you to any of the Disney parks as well as Disney Springs. Buses run approximately every 20-30 minutes throughout the day so it is always convenient to catch a ride!
- Guest Laundry – I found this amenity to be extremely convenient! If you get a stained shirt or just need to clean any of your clothes during your stay, there is a laundry room on site that will allow you to do so. Here you can purchase detergent, run your clothes through both a wash and dry cycle.
Pro tip: You need a smartphone/device in order to operate the washer and dryer so make sure you have it on hand!
On-Site Dining
- World Premiere Food Court – You don’t have to leave your hotel to grab some delicious eats! The World Premiere Food Court offers delicious dining options during breakfast, lunch, and dinner hours. Here you will find a variety of dining plates including breakfast platters, burgers, pizza, and pasta. In addition to full meals you will also find a serve yourself snack area that has grab and go options including pastries, chips and salty snacks, candy, bottled beverages, and more.
- Silver Screen Spirits Pool Bar – If you’re looking for a drink take a trip to the Silver Screens Spirits Pool Bar. Here you will find a number of alcoholic beverages including specialty cocktails, draft beers, wine, and more.
On-Site Shopping
Whether you are looking for last minute vacation items, Disney gear, or souvenirs… you can find a number of great items at Donald’s Double Feature, the onsite shop located within the main lobby. You will find everything from snacks, sunscreen, toiletries, souvenirs, Minnie/Mickey ears, and more!
Checking Out of Disney’s All Star Movies Resort
Check out time is at 11:00 am on the last day of your stay. Similarly to checking in, there is no need to visit the front desk in order to check out of your hotel room. Once you have gotten everything out of your room and are ready to check out of the hotel simply go to the My Disney Experience app on your smartphone and select “check out”. That’s all! You will be emailed an itemized receipt and overview of your stay and you are ready to go on your way.
If you’re looking for a great and affordable hotel during your visit to Disney World, I would highly recommend checking out the Disney’s All Star Movies resort. We had a great time during our stay, received excellent customer service, and found no flaws with our room or the resort itself.
We would certainly stay here again and can’t recommend it enough for those with upcoming Disney World trips planned. Feel free to leave any questions or comments that you may have about the All Star Movies resort in the comments for us and other readers to enjoy. We look forward to hearing from you!

It's a pity that Wreck-It Ralph is so rarely utilized in theming these kinda vacation spots. I'd be 100% more interested in going to one if there were, like, a Litwak's Arcade recreation filled with games.
