There are so many products out on the market for babies, it can be overwhelming to a first time Mom. There are a few products that I found to be absolutely essential when we welcomed Liam into our family and I’d like to take a few moments and share some of our favorites with you. Even if you’re not going to be a Mom yourself, you’re likely to be invited to a baby shower and may need some gift ideas.
Top Baby Must Haves
- Baby Bottles — You may plan to breastfeed or bottle feed. No matter how you feed, you will likely need a bottle that you and your baby will both love. My go to bottle is the Playtex Baby™ VentAire® for a variety of reasons! The bottles feature a unique anti-colic bottom vent and an angled design. The bottles also have a Most Like Mom® NaturaLatch® Nipple that mimics the breast to help baby latch on naturally and promotes easy switching between breast and bottle-feeding.
- Diapering Essentials — Baby wipes and diaper rash cream are two of my all time favorite products for diapering. I prefer to use the unscented wipes just in case there are any unknown sensitivities. I also apply diaper rash cream with every diaper change to ensure that no diaper rash appears.
- Bathing Essentials — There are a few products that I continue to use with Liam even though he’s almost 2. The hooded towel has become a favorite in our house as it helps to keep his head warm as we get him out of the bath to get dressed. Baby hair and body wash is something that I still use on Liam and I love how it makes his skin soft and how it smells. We also love to add baby oil as it moisturizes his skin and makes it even softer than the body wash does. I even use it for myself ;). Finally, Liam has his own wash cloths that I find are softer and the perfect size for bathing.
- Dressing Essentials — Onesies…. the famous onesies are a must have! These one piece suits are GREAT for keeping your little one warm and can go easily under a pair of shorts or pants. These are short sleeves but depending on the season, you can get long sleeve ones. We still use the onesies on Liam!
To make this a perfect gift for the Mom-to-Be, all you need is a basket or bag to put it in. I found a cute little tote that everything fits in and I added some tissue paper.
Then, you can attach a card or tie the card on with a ribbon for a complete baby shower gift. The joy in this gift is that not only can the new Mom use the items in the bag, she can use the bag itself too!
I purchased all of the items above at my local Target store!! Target is the one-stop shop for baby and the #1 place for baby registries. When I was pregnant with Liam, I knew that Target would be a great place to create my registry. Target has all of the essentials and even some fun items for baby like toys ;). The Playtex bottles are also available at Target and conveniently located among the other bottles in that baby section.
Plus, from 8/21 – 9/3, you can save 10% at Target on Playtex products with this Cartwheel offer!
