- Baking soda
- Citric acid
- SLSA (Sodium Laurel Sulfoacetate)
- Cornstarch
- Coconut oil
- Avocado butter
- Polysorbate 80
- Cinnamon essential oil
- Clove essential oil
- Orange essential oil
- White cosmetic glitter
- Ivory Gel Food Color
- Christmas sprinkles
- Spray bottle of rubbing alcohol
- Large Mixing bowl
- Muffin tin
- Cupcake liners
How to Make Christmas Cupcake Bath Bombs
Add dry ingredients, including glitter to a large bowl and whisk together.
Melt coconut oil in the microwave.
Melt avocado butter in microwave.
Mix coconut oil and avocado butter together and add in your essential oils.
Next, add ivory food coloring and whisk together.
Put polysorbate 80 into dry ingredients.
Break down as many clumps that may be remaining in your mixture with your hands.
Place bath bomb mixture into cupcake liners and press down gently. Allow cupcake bath bomb to harden.

Materials
- • 1.5 cups baking soda
- • 1 cup citric acid
- • 1 cup SLSA (Sodium Laurel Sulfoacetate)
- • 1/2 cup cornstarch
- • 1/4-1/3 cup coconut oil
- • 1.5 tablespoons avocado butter
- • 2 tablespoons polysorbate 80
- • 10-20 drops of cinnamon essential oil
- • 10-20 drops of clove essential oil
- • 1-2 drops of orange essential oil
- • 1 tablespoon of white cosmetic glitter
- • 2-3 drops ivory food coloring gel
- • Christmas sprinkles
- • Spray bottle of rubbing alcohol
- • 1 large mixing bowl
- • Muffin tin
- • Cupcake Liners
Instructions
- Add dry ingredients, including glitter to a large bowl.
Sift or whisk dry ingredients. - In a small microwave safe bowl, melt coconut oil in microwave for 15-20 seconds. Repeat in 15 second bursts until completely melted. Repeat with avocado oil.
- Add essential oils to your coconut/avocado oil bowl. Add a few drops of the ivory food coloring and whisk together.
- Add this along with the polysorbate 80 to dry ingredients.
- Using your hands, break down as many clumps that may be remaining in your mixture. You will know when the mixture is perfect when it feels like wet sand and you can press the mixture together in your hands and it stays together.
- Add cupcake liners to a muffin tin and take a scoop of the bath bomb mixture and add to muffin tin. Continue until all cavities are filled. Press down gently. We used the bottom of a small glass to pack it in.
- Allow cupcake bath bomb to harden at least 24 hours before adding the soap frosting to the tops.

Melt your soap base in microwave safe bowl and cool.
Whip mixture in stand mixer and slowly add in the cooled down soap base. Continue to beat until the mixture forms peaks, like when you make a meringue. If your frosting is not stiff enough, add a bit more cornstarch and mix in. Repeat until the mixture is ice and firm.

- Melt your soap base in microwave safe bowl in 30-minute intervals, stirring after each until melted. Allow to cool down to 140 degrees or about 5 minutes.
- Whip mixture on medium speed for 2 minutes and then slowly add in the cooled down soap base. Beat until the mixture forms peaks, like when you make a meringue. If your frosting is not stiff enough, add a bit more cornstarch and mix in. Repeat until the mixture is ice and firm.
- Add frosting to your piping bag and pipe frosting onto your cupcake bath bombs. You must work quickly as the frosting will begin to harden after about 5 minutes. At this point, frosting the cupcakes becomes more difficult.
- Add a few colorful decorations if desired. We added holiday colored sprinkles.
