Apple Pie is one of my favorite desserts, it is even more delicious with some vanilla bean ice cream on top. It is a wonderful treat for dessert after a delicious meal. Did you know that the classic apple pie isn’t that hard to make? In fact, you can make it quick and easy. Classic Apple Pie
1 package store bought pie crust
4 C. apples, peeled and sliced
3/4 C. sugar
2 tbs. flour
1 tsp flour
1/2 C. sugar + 2 tsp cinnamon – combine to sprinkle over the top of the pie crust
8-9′ pie dish
#1. Preheat the oven to 425 degrees.
#2. In a small bowl, combine the 2 tablespoons of flour, 3/4 cup of sugar, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon and 1/4 teaspoon of nutmeg.
#3. Pour the dry mixture over the top of the apples and gently stir with a large spoon to coat.
#4. Place 1 pie crust into the bottom of the pie dish and gently form it to the sides.
#5. Pour the apple mixture into the pie dish.
#6. Place the 2nd crust on top of the apples to close the pie.
#7. Use a fork and gently press down in the sides of the pie to close it. Next, use a sharp paring knife to trim the extra crust off the sides.
#8. Vent the top of the pie crust with a fork 3-4 times.
#9. Dab the milk on the top of the crust (this will make it golden brown) and sprinkle with cinnamon and sugar mixture – we like a lot. 🙂
#10. Place the pie in the oven and bake for 15 minutes at 425 degrees. Turn the down to 350 degrees after 15 minutes and continue to bake another 30-35 minutes.
#11. Remove the pie from the oven and allow it to set.
