There are a variety of reasons that a drain would get clogged. Unfortunately, plumbing problems like clogs are bound to happen to the best of us. We’ve had a few clogs and some have been super easy and others have been challenging ones to get through. The one that I always remember was food grease in our first apartment. We were renting so we put in a repair ticket and waited for maintenance to come. They left us a note saying that they cleared the drain for us. How embarrassing, right?! Now that we’ve bought a house and moved on to bigger and better things, we’ve learned that not all clogs require a maintenance call! It is very important to educate your household and family about the types of clogs and the types of items that should not go down the drains! Also, just because you have a garbage disposal you cannot put anything you want down the drain!! Things like eggshells, grease, fats, oils, and leftover food have clogged my sink!! However, that is just in the kitchen and there are other sinks in the house. In the bathroom, there are things like hair that can clog the drains.
