Welcome to This N That with Olivia’s Baby Gift Guide!
Are you a Mom-t0-Be or New Mom? Or maybe even someone looking for a perfect gift for the Mom-to-Be? This N That with Olivia’s Baby Gift Guide will feature products from the best baby brands out there in the form of reviews and sometimes giveaways. Our first little one, Liam Wesley arrived on September 22, 2014 – a few weeks earlier than his due date of October 1, 2014. We’ve been searching for the best baby products for our little boy all through my pregnancy and have already featured some in our Gift Guide!
Our next feature is from Difrax– and we were given the opportunity to review their S bottles and pacifiers! When I stumbled across the Difrax products, I noticed that they were different than any other baby products that I had seen.
“Difrax offers everything for babies and parents: from pacifiers and baby bottles to advice, guidance and support. Difrax products are designed to make the first few years of a child’s life as comfortable as possible, and to increase convenience for parents. Our vast range of products is manufactured with quality and safety in mind. You can rest assured that Difrax baby products are safe. “
Liam is 100% breastfed but as I plan to go back to work in a few weeks, I’ve been pumping and storing milk for my Mom when she watches him. Also, my husband gets up and feeds him with a bottle during the night for me too so I can get a few hours of shut eye. We were looking for a great bottle for him to transition from breast to bottle with ease and couldn’t find one that wouldn’t give him gas or a tummy ache. That’s when we were introduced to the Difrax Smart S Bottle- a bottle designed in an S shape to keep the milk in the nipple without much air! The problem with the other bottles was the amount of air that he would inhale…. causing the gas and uncomfortable tummy pain (and long nights of crying for us).
This smart bottle can be used from birth and is ideal for combining breastfeeding and bottle-feeding. The unique S∙shape means that the teat is always full of milk and without air. Thanks to the valve in the base, your baby swallows less air and so has less trouble with burping, vomiting, colic and earache. The valve prevents a vacuum being created when baby sucks and ensures a constant flow of milk. Your baby can therefore feed undisturbed and then sleeps longer and more peacefully afterwards. As well as all these benefits for your baby, this bottle is also better for you. The S∙shaped design allows the feeding adult to sit in a relaxed, ergonomically sound position. There is less strain on the back and shoulders. Always hold the S∙bottle with the short side at the top when feeding your baby.
We LOVE the Difrax S Bottle– it really does help keep feeding much easier for us and much more comfortable for Liam. When we received the bottles I wasn’t sure how they worked, it is a unique shape but it works wonders in ensuring that Liam gets milk and not a ton of air. Right now, those are the only bottles we are using, I need to get more for my Mom’s house!
Liam loves his pacifiers too, it helps to soothe him when he is uncomfortable or just bored ;). We were sent the Classic 0-6 month pacifiers from Difrax and they’re another one of Liam’s favorites. We searched and we have a ton of different kinds of pacifiers for him but he only took to a few of them. I think it has something to do with the size of the nipple on the pacifier. Liam was small at birth and we were told that he has a small mouth, too, which makes it hard for him to take to some of the pacifiers. He tends to get frustrated when they won’t stay in his mouth and spit them out. However, he definitely loves his pacifiers.
As you can see, he loves the Difrax pacifier and his bouncy seat! The pacifier is the perfect size for his little mouth and the design is adorable too. I love how easy it is for him to hold onto the pacifier and the unique design! “The small classic style pacifier is for babies aged 0-6 months. The classic pacifier has a nipple shape and is thus a perfect starter pacifier.”
Difrax has a 3 stage pacifier system that grows as your baby grows. We started with the 0-6 month pacifiers, but there are 2 more steps up from this so as Liam grows we can continue to use pacifiers from Difrax.
The Difrax products are definitely our favorites so far (and Liam’s too) as they’re unique and work well for us and him! I will be ordering some more bottles to have on hand, they’re great. We notice such a difference when using the products and I’ll be keeping this in mind for future baby shower gifts, too!
