Wouldn’t you love to banish dry skin on your body for good? Well, it’s possible if you can find the right remedy for your skin type. Sometimes there’s nothing I want more than to have moisturized skin. I wanted to share some of my best tips for helping you keep your dry skin moisturized.
#1. Any type of natural oil
Coconut oil, castor oil, and avocado oil are great remedies for dry skin. These oils don’t contain anything that will make your skin dry up even more. Instead, these natural oils help to add moisture to your skin. In my opinion, it takes a little while to get used to the oily feel, but it’s totally worth trying any of these on your dry skin.
#2. Soak in oatmeal
There’s something about oatmeal that helps lock in moister within your skin. You can mix oatmeal with honey for a “mask” to place on dry patches around your body. Or you can use it to make a face mask to help promote moisturized skin. Some people even go as far as taking an oatmeal bath to help their dry skin.
#3. Epsom Salt
Epsom salt is something you can use in the bathtub to help your body get rid of the dry and dead skin. While I’m in the tub with Epsom salt, I will take a little bit and scrub it on the dry skin on my body. When I get out of the tub it’s as if I just had a whole-body exfoliate experience.
#4. Use the right type of moisturizer
Something I’ve noticed is that using the wrong type of moisturizer on your skin can make it worse. You need to find the type of moisturizer that works for you and your skin type. This might take some trial and error but it’s so worth it.
#5. Bizarre ways to moisturize your skin
Has your skin ever felt so dry you will do anything to make it feel soft again? I’ve read into moisturizing the skin and I have heard that something as simple as mud can help your skin feel rich and whole again. Other bizarre ways to moisturize your skin could include items like cucumbers, and I’ve even heard of people using mayonnaise.
How can I avoid dry skin all together?
Making your skin feel soft and moisturized can also start with your daily routine. Be careful what you’re putting on your body. Avoid items that have too much dye or perfume in them because they can ultimately dry out your skin. Sometimes the type of clothing you wear can also irritate your skin. Also, don’t scrub your skin too hard because that can also result in having insanely dry skin over time. It’s important to find ways to take care of your skin, so you don’t have to worry about it getting too dry. Some people have dry skin naturally, but these tips can help you moisturize your skin, even when you feel like there’s no hope left.

I got this great oil from Walmart for Christmas and I love it! I had never tried it before, but right before I dry off out of the shower I cover myself in it. It holds in the moisture and smells so good.
