We gave the Walmart Family Mobile Plus plan a try with our tax return and are very pleased with the quality of this plan. The one thing that we absolutely love about this plan are the added benefits. We not only have reliable service each month, but we also have a family movie night to look forward to!

The Walmart Family Mobile Plus Plan offers unlimited Talk, Text, & Data which includes up to 10GB of 4G LTE then 2G plus a free VUDU movie credit every month ($7 value) per line for $49.88 

To get started with Walmart Family Mobile, you’ll just head to your local Walmart store and purchase a phone of your choice (or bring your own, if compatible), and a SIM Kit for $19.88. That’s all it costs to start your plan! I chose to purchase the Samsung Galaxy On5 Smartphone (retail $119.00) and SIM Kit at my local store and then headed home to get the service started. Since Family Mobile bills you later, you only have to pay $19.88 when you sign up.

Our family is always on the go and we frequently find ourselves cutting it close or exceeding our monthly data limit. Since we switched to Walmart Family Mobile, our family has been able to use data a little more freely than before. We absolutely love going to the park with our family and can now share live with our family and friends when we are there. We also travel a lot and with a 2 year old in the car, we sometimes need to let him watch a show. Thanks to the Walmart Family Mobile Plus plan we are able to let him watch a show or two in the car so we don’t have to stop over and over.

Family Movie Night

In addition to the amazing things that we can do as a family with the Walmart Family Mobile Plus plan, we can also have a monthly movie night! One of the benefits of this plan is that you get a free VUDU movie credit every month ($7 value) per line! We look forward to this every month to spend the few hours together with some delicious snacks and a great movie at home on our Smart TV. With a toddler at home, we don’t get to the movie theaters that often. It is helpful that we can find the latest movies available on our TV and be in the comfort of our home. 

To make this movie night extra special, I made some delicious treats for my family. We had a variety of snacks and foods for the entire family which didn’t last long. I started the crockpot of short ribs in the morning and baked the brownies before the party. Then, I threw together a veggie tray with some spinach and herb dip. I popped popcorn because what is a movie night without popcorn and found some delicious snacks like gummy bears to share! 

I wanted to share a few of the recipes with you — Honey Glazed Short Ribs and Brownies as they were absolutely delicious! We will be making both of these again! 

Honey Glazed Short Ribs

Ingredients:

• 2 lbs. short ribs
• 1 cup honey
• 1/2 cup soy sauce
• 10 cloves of garlic, minced
• 1 Tbsp. salt
• 1 Tbsp. pepper
• 1 Tbsp. paprika
• 1 tsp. chili powder

Directions:

1. Liberally coat the short ribs with the salt, pepper, paprika and chili powder on both sides.
2. Add honey, soy sauce and minced garlic to crock pot. 
3. Add short ribs to crock pot being sure to coat the ribs in the sauce. 
4. Cook on high for 4 hours or low for 6 hours. 
5. Serve and top with sauce from crockpot.
6. Enjoy!

Brownies

Brownie Ingredients:

• 1/2 cup butter
• 1 cup white sugar
• 2 eggs
• 1 tsp vanilla extract
• 1/3 cup unsweetened cocoa powder
• 1/2 cup all-purpose flour
• 1/4 tsp salt
• 1/4 tsp baking powder

Frosting Ingredients:

• 3 Tbsp butter, softened
• 2 Tbsp unsweetened cocoa powder
• 1 Tbsp honey
• 1 tsp vanilla extract
• 1 cup confectioner’s sugar
• 3 Tbsp evaporated milk

Directions:

1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F. Grease and flour a 8-inch square pan.
2. In a large saucepan, melt 1/2 cup butter. Remove from heat and stir in sugar, eggs and 1 tsp. vanilla. Beat in 1/3 cup cocoa powder, 1/2 cup flour, salt and baking soda. Spread batter into prepared pan.
3. Bake for 25-30 minutes. Do not overcook.

To Prepare Frosting: Combine 3 Tbsp softened butter, 3 Tbsp cocoa powder, honey, 1 tsp. vanilla extract, 1 cup confectioners sugar and 3 Tbsp evaporated milk. Stir until smooth. Frost brownies while they are still warm.
