Lucky Charms Rice Krispie Treats
These Rice Krispie Treats are the traditional soft but formed treats that you all know and love. However, we add in some Lucky Charms to theme them for Saint Patrick’s Day. Let’s get started!
Ingredients Needed for Lucky Charms Rice Krispie Treats
- Mini Marshmallows
- Lucky Charms
- Butter
- Nonstick Cooking Spray
How Do I Make Lucky Charms Rice Krispie Treats?
First, let’s gather all of our ingredients!
You’ll want to slice your butter into chunks and combine it with some of the mini marshmallows in a large mixing bowl. Microwave this on high for 2 minutes.
Make sure you immediately stir until the marshmallows are no longer chunky and the butter is fully mixed in.
Now go ahead and addd the remaining mini marshmallows and almost all of the Lucky Charms to the melted marshmallows and gently fold together until the cereal and unmelted marshmallows are fully covered.
Prep your 9×13 cake pan by spraying with nonstick cooking spray.
Add the Rice Krispie mixture to the pan and gently spread even in the pan.
Sprinkle the remaining of Lucky Charms over the top and lightly press to ensure it sticks to the top.
Let rest for about an hour or until set. Slice and enjoy!
How Thick Can I Make These?
If you want super thick rice krispie treats, double the recipe or use an 8×8 pan, except for the cup of cereal on the top. That will remain the same, unless you want less.
Can I let them sit for less than an hour?
You may not have to leave them for an hour, as they often set pretty quickly. However, I tend to let them have plenty of time to rest as they’re easier to cute and less messy that way.

How packed does the mixture need to be in the pan?
Don’t press the mixture down into the pan too hard or you’ll make the treats tough. They’ll pack really tight making them like jerky tough. Believe me…I made this mistake before. Don’t do it!
Can I make these in the Microwave?
You can make the butter and marshmallow mixture over the stuff instead of the microwave, if desired. It’s just quicker to use the microwave, which is why it’s my cooking method of choice.
How do I store the Lucky Charm Rice Krispie Treats?
Store these delicious treats in an air tight container on your counter top. I’d recommend pre-cutting them and then placing them into the container.
