Don’t Look Directly at the Sun
It’s crucial to remember that looking directly at the sun during a solar eclipse, even a total eclipse, can cause serious and permanent damage to your eyes. The only time it is safe to look at the sun without proper eye protection is during the brief period of totality when the sun is completely covered by the moon. However, this period only lasts for a few minutes, and it’s still recommended to use proper eye protection or indirect viewing methods to observe the eclipse safely. Regular sunglasses or homemade filters are not sufficient for safe viewing. It’s essential to use specially designed solar viewing glasses or viewing devices that meet the appropriate safety standards.
