10 Frugal Tips Every Mom Must Know and Practice Daily
Frugal living is one of the talents moms possess. Women can stretch a paycheck till it meets the next paycheck. If you are questioning how you should go about spending sparingly, here are frugal living tips you should know.
Frugal Tip #1: Always Have a Budget
Planning for every coin expected by your household is the best thing you can do. A budget helps you monitor how you spend money and exposes the loopholes that need to be fixed. It also gives a room for moms to see what items they can sacrifice.
Having a budget is not enough; you have to follow it to the latter.
Frugal Tip # 2: Prepare Meals at Home
If you want to watch your money fly away, make a habit of eating out.
Home cooked meals are cheaper than eating out. Always make a point of preparing food at home and avoid eating out like a plague. Once in a blue moon, it is okay to have a treat for your family. Meal planning is one of my all time favorite ways to save money.
Frugal Tip #3: Get Creative with Leftovers
Do not throw away leftovers, get creative with them. You need to stop seeing them as just leftovers and begin looking at them as ingredients for another meal.
Frugal Tip #4: Always have a Shopping List
Anytime you are going shopping, always make sure you have a shopping list and follow it strictly. There is a time you will need to be flexible. For example, if you went to a grocery and found out that the item you need is out of the season, pick another item that can serve the same purpose.
Frugal Tip #5: Practice Delayed Gratification
To many moms, instant gratification is their way of life. Try practicing delayed gratification, and you will be amazed by what you can save. How does delayed gratification work?
If you want to buy something, do not buy it right away. Give it 30 days before you can have a purchase. Chances are, if that item is not a need you will end up not buying it. That is how money gets saved up.
Frugal Tip #6: Don’t Spend a lot of Money on Children
Children are the easiest persons to please. You don’t need to spend a fortune on entertainment for them to be happy. Having you play fun games with them is enough. Kids carry memories of the fun times you have had together. To them, money does not count.
Tip #7: Make Good Use of your Garden
Do you have a garden space?
If the answer is yes, you ought to start growing your vegetables. Growing your vegetables will save you dimes that you would have spent in a grocery.
Tip #8: Declutter Your Home
Clutter is a source of stress!
You don’t need LOTS of stuff to be happy. Over the last year, decluttering has changed our lives. Getting rid of stuff and organizing your home is going to make a world of a difference.
Tip #9: Always Pack Food
Packing food when you leave the home will help save money he would have spent eating out. Eating fast food is not only costly but also unhealthy.
Tip #10: Don’t buy Disposables, instead buy Reusables
Have you ever considered how much you spend on disposable napkins, diapers, and wipes?
The figure might appear to be small, but when accumulated over a long period it is unimaginable. Buying reusable items such as diapers and napkins will result in a positive change in your savings.
Saving is not rocket science. It is a habit moms learn and practice. Avoiding wastage will ensure your children’s future is secure. Be a frugal mom!
