Gift Ideas for Baby

Let’s face it babies are hard to shop for. It is not like you can ask them “What would you like for Christmas?” More than likely you would get a look of pure confusion or a cute baby yawn. Liam is a year old so it is hard to find toys or items to buy for him. Honestly, he doesn’t need any more toys– that’s for sure. I have some in the closet that aren’t even opened, and I’ll use those to give him gifts for the next few holidays. I love getting toys that he can use for years and are simple. I hope this list get you thinking of ideas for your little one.

Books – So often when thinking about gift for babies books are overlooked. When a baby has a book they grow a certain curiosity about pictures and words. Reading to a baby encourages a love of learning.

Clothes – Babies need clothes. They grow out of clothes so fast your head spins. Clothes are a great and useful gift option for your favorite baby. After all you know they will use them. get the next size or two up for best results. Nothing beats the joy of having a wardrobe ready when your baby outgrows everything seemingly overnight.

Quality wooden toys – Toys are expensive. Quality, sturdy, wooden toys will last for years to come getting you more bang for your bucks.

Zoo membership – Babies love to be outside, they love new things to explore. A year zoo membership is a great gift for a baby. There’s always somewhere to go and get out of the house when you can go to the zoo without any extra cost. Pack a lunch and have fun.

Toy kitchen – While it seems early you would be surprised how handy a toy kitchen can be for a baby. A baby version like

Keepsake ornament – A keepsake ornament to enjoy every Christmas is a great way to commemorate their first Christmas. A reminder of fond memories that will be brought out year after year.

Teething set – Teething is no fun at all. An Amber teething necklace and some quality teething toys are a great gift for baby.

Quality blocks – The higher the quality the better. Nice wood blocks will last for years.

Sensory toys – Sensory materials calm children and help them learn or escape from over-stimulation. Christmas is the perfect time to splurge on items they will need over the first couple years. Things like sand and water tables, tents, cuddly places to escape are all great.

Walking toys – This big milestone will come soon and toys made for baby to hold onto while walking are a great way to encourage walking. Get them now for Christmas as have them on hand when the time comes.

I love gifting books! I write in the inside cover like a card. I have had friends do this for my little one and its so fun reading them years later.

I love the idea of books and wooden blocks. So much more valuable than the plastic things that break or have small pieces. And clothes are always a helpful gift!
