GODMOTHERED will be available on Disney+ 12/4 and is the perfect movie for the entire family this Christmas season. Check out all of the details below including the trailer and our thoughts on seeing this film before it released on Disney+.
Disney+ has quickly become one of our all time favorite streaming services. Not only are there a ton of Disney movies and shows on there, but Disney also releases special movies and shows only available on Disney+.
We were given the opportunity to screen this new film before its release and loved it. This movie is family friendly and engaging and tells a great story about Eleanor, a young fairy godmother-in-training. Check out all of the release details below.
Set at Christmas time, “Godmothered” is a comedy about Eleanor, a young, inexperienced fairy godmother-in-training (Jillian Bell), who upon hearing that her chosen profession is facing extinction, decides to show the world that people still need fairy godmothers.
Finding a mislaid letter from a 10-year-old girl in distress, Eleanor tracks her down and discovers that the girl, Mackenzie, is now a 40-year-old single mom (Isla Fisher) working at a news station in Boston.
Having lost her husband several years earlier, Mackenzie has all but given up on the idea of “happily ever after,” but Eleanor is bound and determined to give Mackenzie a happiness makeover, whether she likes it or not.
This film has a great balance between comedy and a great storyline! The characters mesh so well together and the storyline truly comes to life in Godmothered. Eleanor is hilarious, I don’t know how they kept it together in filming because I was laughing the entire time.
This movie is family friendly as the comedy is not vulgar or adult themed in any way. It is sort of a unique twist on Cinderella with the fairy godmother theme but also holds its own story about the Motherland and these aspiring fairy godmothers like Eleanor.
The movie kept me engaged the entire time and was truly a heartwarming story as we followed Eleanor’s journey to help Mackenzie find her true love.
This movie is set at Christmas time but it truly can be enjoyed at anytime during the year. If you’re looking for a not so traditional Christmas movie to watch this Holiday season, GODMOTHERED is the perfect one.
