There is nothing quite like a classic homemade rice krispie treat, right?! This spin on this classic, easy to make dessert is sure to please your entire family. Make a batch of these Hot Cocoa Rice Krispie Treats for your kid’s next sleepover or party or take them to school to share with their friends? I even made a batch and took them to share with my coworkers and they loved them! To make these delicious treats, you need just a few added ingredients aside from the traditional rice krispie treats recipe, too!
Hot Cocoa Rice Krispie Treats
Ingredients
- 4 C. Rice Krispie cereal
- 6 oz mini marshmallows (a little more than 1/2 a bag)
- 2 tbsp. butter, cut into chunks
- 1/8 C. hot cocoa powder
- handful of Kraft Mallow Bits for sprinkling on top of the treats
- handful of mini chocolate chips for sprinkling on top of the treats
Directions
Spray a 9×9 baking dish with non-stick cooking spray. You can also line with foil and spray with non-stick spray for easy clean up.
Melt the butter and mini marshmallows in a large saucepan.
Add in the hot cocoa mix and stir to combine.
Pour the mixture into the baking dish and press down.
Sprinkle the Mallow Bits and mini chocolate chips on top and gently press into the treats.
Let the treats cool and and set and then cut into squares and enjoy!
