Are you tired of not being able to save money? When you create a budget, you are telling your money where to go, therefore, you can save money. This sounds simple, but it works. I wanted to share some of my favorite ways to budget to save money. Having a thousand dollars in your savings account will no longer look super difficult.
Have a saving’s goal
When it comes down to saving money, you need something to keep you accountable. If you really want to get motivated to save, then make sure you have a saving’s goal in mind. It may just surprise you how motivating this can be to make saving a reality for you.
Bills always come first
Some people seem to struggle with the idea that bills come first. Before you can save money, you need to make sure your four walls are taken care of. This means all your bills need paid for. You can try and lower your bills, but nonetheless take care of this first.
Make sure you have extra
If you are struggling to pay your bills, then a few things may need to happen.
- Number one: you may need to increase your income.
- Number two: you need to decrease your expensive.
Sometimes it’s easier to decrease your expenses, then it is to go out and get a second job. However, this all depends on your goals and circumstances. I’m confident that if you’re serious about it, you can make this happen.
Decide on an amount to save each week
Just like you budget for any other bill and your groceries, you also budget for your savings. This is an amount you set, no one else. Let’s say you want to save $50 a week from your paycheck, you can make this happen! I personally get our savings deposited into an account that I cannot touch. It’s an account that we can only get to if we absolutely need to.
When it comes to budgeting to save money, it takes some severe dedication. You have to tell your money where to go, not the other way around. Following these tips are sure to help you save more money within your budget.
A personal tip that I use is envelopes for our budget. We have a certain amount of money for each category in envelopes. Once the money is gone, it’s gone.
