One of my all time favorite Christian Songs is by Mercy Me — I Can Only Imagine. Even if you don’t listen to Christian music on a regular basis, you’re likely to have heard this song. I’ve heard it in a variety of locations for a variety of occasions and it is one that never gets old.

If you’ve heard the song, have you ever wondered about the story behind the movie? Well, you and me both wondered that along with many others. I am excited to announce that I Can Only Imagine is now available on Blu-ray, DVD and more! This movie was just in theaters a few months ago and did amazingly well. In fact, that is where Garrett and I first saw it.

Running from a troubled home life and a broken relationship, Bart Millard (Finley) found escape in music. Hitting the road in a decrepit tour bus, Bart and his band MercyMe set out on an amazing journey none of them could have ever imagined, in this uplifting, music-filled movie that beautifully illustrates the power of forgiveness and God’s love.

I was so excited to bring this movie home and can’t wait for you to see it too. This movie tells a beautiful story between Bart Millard and his Dad and truly shows you that I Can Only Imagine truly took a lifetime in the making. I love how it shares how the Mercy Me band was formed and the struggles they had getting off the ground. I cried and I laughed, but mostly cried.
This is a wonderful story between Bart and his Dad and one that is captured so perfectly in the song. You need to see it, if you haven’t already but more importantly, this needs to be added to your home movie collection. It also makes a great gift, too!
