INVICTA Challenge is a game that tells true stories about American heroes and certainly transforms what we consider to be ‘games’ in today’s age. Are you looking to transform your child’s video game experience? INVICTA challenge gets them away from the screen and tells real stories of American Heroes!
We were sent INVICTA Challenge to try out and I knew right away that it would be a hit. This is a new kind of game that shows leadership and decision making to your children. Here is a little more about the game:
Flash & Thunder tells the true story of a Native American paratrooper on D-Day. Challenge yourself as Turner Turnbull, a young lieutenant in the 82nd Airborne, in this action-packed game. You make the decisions he faced on D-Day-and determine history! Flash & Thunder includes an operations packet, 2 detailed maps, 108-page graphic novel and collectible paratrooper figure, which tie to a free-to-play mobile game. Game includes: 15 card Operations Packet 2 detailed maps 108-page graphic novel Mission. The graphic novel Mission is written in a “reader chooses-the-outcome” format, allowing kids to make the decisions that determine the story’s outcome. Detailed 6-inch paratrooper figure sculpted by the Four Horsemen Studios To play Flash & Thunder: Kids first examine their Operations Packet and maps. Using that information, they then complete the graphic novel Mission, in which they make decisions determining mission failure or success. Next, kids can download the free mobile strategy game. If they’ve read their Operations Packet, maps, and Mission, winning the video game is a snap! Action-packed, highly visual and historically accurate, our stories get kids reading in a fun and interactive way. Perfect for teachers, homeschoolers and any kid who can’t resist a mission. Recommended Ages: Age 8 – 14 years old. Available at Barnes & Noble, barnesandnoble.com, and amazon.com

INVICTA Challenge is going to be perfect for you to add to your kid’s Holiday gifts – it is geared towards ages 8-14 so keep that in mind. I have 2 nephews in that age range so they’ll be getting this for Christmas (shhhh). I think that the makers of this game did a wonderful thing and I am excited to play along with them to see what they enjoy.
Note that, although there are delays in getting this content on Google Play and Apple iTunes, we have the content on the website. You can try it yourself, here: invictachallenge.com/play/
The same content and interactive questions will be in the apps when they go live. You can see how the digital game play encourages reading of the Ops Package that comes in the product package sold at Barnes & Noble, and encourages careful and analytical reading in the digital game. It’s very immersive and compelling! We hope you will give it a try, and share the link in your review, as well as mention that your readers can check back in their app store in a week or two if they prefer a mobile device app (we sure hope they’ll be live by then!)
In addition to the free apps for mobile devices, there’s an in-app purchase for $4.99, about which I have some exciting news I know you will want to share: In honor of the first hero portrayed by Invicta Challenge in Flash & Thunder, the company helped create a Turner Turnbull Scholarship with the Chahta Foundation, a nonprofit that works alongside the Choctaw Nation of Oklahoma. The company will donate a portion of its in-app sales to this scholarship supporting a Choctaw Nation student in his or her 2nd year of college. The company will kick off the scholarship drive with a donation of $1,000 at a Dec. 3 event in Durant, OK with the Choctaw Nation.
Says founder Jim Murphy, “The scholarship funding amount is based upon purchases of the Flash & Thunder app. The more people who download and experience the story of Turner Turnbull, Bob Niland, Ben Vandevoort, and the rest of the men who stormed Normandy and freed Europe, the more we will be able to donate to support the scholarship. Our goal is to raise at least $25,000, and we will update the community regularly on our progress. We have seeded the scholarship with a gift of $1000 from Invicta Challenge and will build upon that with in-app purchases.”
