Family Fun Day at Kings Dominion

This past weekend, my family and a few friends of ours visited Kings Dominion in Virginia to spend the day enjoying the park. Kings Dominion is one of the awesome amusement parks in Virginia! We were so excited to visit and see the new attractions as well as experience the ones that we know and love. It had been about 10 years or so since my family has been to Kings Dominion and Liam’s first time. We couldn’t wait to get there and make our game plan for the day. That morning it was raining, chilly and windy but it soon cleared up and was a beautiful day for us to experience the park.

Charlie Brown at Kings Dominion

When we entered the park, we saw an adorable Charlie Brown at the Eiffel Tower attraction. Of course we had to snap a picture as we couldn’t wait to get to Planet Snoopy. We first decided to grab some lunch in the park and had a hard time finding a place that we really wanted and would suit everyone. We decided to stop at a place towards the middle of the park and get some cheese steaks, hot dogs and drinks. We chose to get the refillable cups for $9.99 where refills are free for the entire day. Unfortunately, the food wasn’t as good as we anticipated and we weren’t pleased with the prices. Next time we visit, we will bring our own lunch and keep it in the car (as you can exit and re-enter the park as long as your hand is stamped).

Kings Dominion Family Fun Day

I decided that babywearing Liam would be our best option as he’s not too much of a fan of the stroller or walking around. We snapped a quick selfie before we started the fun day ahead.

We first decided to get in line for a few rollercoaster rides as our friends were super excited to get on them – just as we were. We hit up the Volcano but they had to close it for maintenance so we came back later. We decided to get on the Intimidator next – this is a HUGE coaster with a 305 foot hill that you go down at 90mph and at an 85 degree angle. This is the fastest rollercoaster in the park!! We figured, go big or go home. Since we had Liam we had to switch off for all of the coasters with each other but it worked out great.

Intimidator at Kings DominionThis roller coaster was SO fun but also scary! My friend, Anna, and I went on it and we had a blast. The guys told us that we would possibly feel like we were going to black out at the bottom of the hill and surely we did. It was short lived and still a blast.

Intimidator at Kings DominionWe eventually went back and got on the Volcano which was amazing (like always) as well as the Anaconda and then some of our group got on the Drop Zone, The Crypt and more. We also stopped by the Dominator to be the last roller coaster of the day!

Finally, we headed over to Planet Snoopy for some fun with the entire family! What an adorable part of the park for kids! Kings Dominion has everything that kids and adults will like – we cannot wait for the water park to open for us to experience later this season.  Planet Snoopy has over fourteen acres of Peanuts themed fun – from rides and shows, to meeting your favorite Peanuts character

Planet SnoopyLiam enjoyed walking around the park and seeing all of the rides. The only one he was old enough and interested to get on was the carousel which was a blast for all of us! However, our next visit we will be sure to get on a few of the fun rides in Planet Snoopy!

Our family and friends had a blast at Kings Dominion and cannot wait to go back for another visit before the season is over. Kings Dominion is family fun for the entire family – coasters, kids park, water park and more. Anna and I got some Dippin’ Dots and the others got some funnel cakes.

We stopped by the candy store at the exit of the park and snapped some fun photos in front of the beautiful waterfalls, too, before heading out.
