As a busy Mom, I snack a lot! I find myself grabbing for something convenient and that doesn’t always mean that it is the best choice of items. I love snacks, that’s pretty much it. A new product from an amazing company is hitting shelves at your local Cotsco from Larabar. They are introducing two Cashew and Almond Nut Butters – banana nut and chocolate coconut! Yum, both of these products are delicious and definitely made a great snack food. You can add them to a bagel, add them to a recipe or eat it by the spoonful.

I am usually in a super big rush in the morning trying to get my son to daycare and myself to work. It was challenging enough to get myself out of the door but now a toddler is in the mix and he seems to hate mornings more than I do. Since I am in such a rush, I usually skip breakfast. However, I’ve been trying different smoothies recently and the cool thing is that I can make this in the morning before I leave quickly in my blender or even the night before and have it ready to go in the refrigerator in the morning. Then, I can easily drink it on the way to work or during the first part of my day! The new Lara Nut Butters certainly add some zing to my smoothies and I wanted to share a fantastic and easy recipe with you – Berry Nut Butter Smoothie!

Ingredients:

  • 1 cup unsweetened almond milk
  • 1 cup frozen mixed berries
  • 2 Tbsp. Larabar Cashew and Almond Butter – Banana Nut
  • 1 Tbsp. real maple syrup
  • 1/2 cup plain greek yogurt

Directions:

Add all ingredients to your blender.

Blend on high for about 1 minute.

I have made this a few times and taken it to work. It has a nice sweetness to it because of the berries and the maple syrup. I also love the texture that the Lara Nut Butter gives to it – a nice banana flavor with a delicious cashew and almond addition! I’m going to be adding this in a lot of my smoothies and giving the chocolate coconut a whirl too! Head on over to your local Costco to pick up your Lara Nut Butters. What will you make? Our family loves Lara Bars but didn't know they make nut butters. I'll have to search for them at Costco next time I am there!
