The Lion Guard: Return of the Roar! #LionGuardEvent

Thank You For Sharing!!

I was provided an all expense paid trip to learn more Disney/ABC shows and movies. All opinions are my own.

Lion Guard 3

As part of my awesome trip to Los Angeles a few days ago, I was able to screen Disney’s newest show, “The Lion Guard: Return of the Roar.” This new show will premiere on Disney on Sunday, November 22 and is a lot like the Lion King with an Avengers twist on it. The Lion Guard’s job is to protect the circle of life in the jungle. In this special show tonight, you learn about how Kion, son of Simba and Nala, assembles The Lion Guard. Kion is on the hunt to find the fastest, the bravest, the strongest, and the keenest of sight so that his team can work together to protect the jungle.

We were also given the opportunity to interview those who made The Lion Guard possible: Executive Producer Ford Riley, Composer Christopher Willis, Singer/Songwriter Beau Black & Swahili Consultant Sarah Mirza. We heard the story of how The Lion Guard came about and it was truly heartwarming. The producer, Ford Riley, came up with this idea based on his son who always played super heroes at the park with his friends. I loved hearing him talk about his son and you could tell that he was proud to say that his son inspired his idea for the show.

The four are pictured above during out interview where we learned that all of them work together to make sure the show is as factual as possible. They also call in Animal Kingdom’s Dr. Jill Mellen to be sure they are accurately portraying each animal character in the movie. Sarah Mirza is the Swahili consultant and it was fun to hear how she helps them blend in catch phrases from Swahili to help your kids learn a new language without even knowing it! When you watch the show on Sunday, you may recognize some of the voices in the show from The Lion King! These voices include Rob Lowe, Gabrielle Union, James Earl Jones, and Sarah Hyland. We also learned that they plan to bring in special voices throughout the series!

We will definitely be watching the special introduction show on Sunday,  November 22 and then when the series starts.

Lion Guard 2

To prepare for the premiere of The Lion Guard: Return of the Roar, film your BEST ROAR and post to your social media pages with #ReturnoftheRoar. Disney will donate one dollar for every ROAR, up to $25,000, to the Disney Conservation Fund! You must post during the week of November 14-22. Last year, The Walt Disney Company directed nearly one million dollars through the Disney Conservation Fund to help protect more than 25 species of African wildlife in 16 countries, and with your help we can continue to help even more animals!

Make sure you tune in on Sunday night (11/22) at 7pm (EST) for the premiere of The Lion Guard Return of the Roar.
