Thanks to Drive Shop and Mazda USA, I was provided a 2016 Mazda CX-9 AWD model to test drive and review for a week. Opinions expressed are that of my own and to the best of my knowledge all vehicle information is correct.
We were given the opportunity to test drive a 2016 Mazda CX-9 AWD last week! We were excited to check out this model car as we haven’t really looked into Mazda for car purchases. After looking online at the common features of this model, I couldn’t wait to try it out. This car arrived and I just knew that we would fall in love. I drove it back to work as I picked it up on my lunch break and I did fall in love! Check out why……
This car is sleek but professional. It sits lower to the ground than most larger SUVs which makes it easier to get in and out of. This particular model had auburn seats and accents which I absolutely loved. We had a touchscreen display complete with Navigation, Bluetooth, Rear View Camera and Sirius XM Radio. The average MPG for this car is 23MPG but the area we live in is a lot of heavy traffic so we averaged 20.8MPG which is still awesome!
Another couple features that I loved were the one touch hatch open/close with either the remote or the button on the bottom of the hatch. That made it super easy, with a baby in hand, to use! There is a decent amount of space in all three rows of seats too! My husband who is 6’2″ could get in and out of the 2nd and 3rd rows pretty easily. He did say that he couldn’t sit back there for long car rides but that he could do it! When you’re driving there is a digital speed display that shows on the windshield and also the blind spot indicators that show there too! I loved having the blind spot indicators right there and also on my side mirrors!
Overall, this car fit into our family very well. We could fit our toddler (who is still rear-facing), my husband, myself and if we wanted to our 2 black labs. We would all fit comfortably and have a smooth ride in this car. The Mazda CX-9 AWD has a sticker price of $37,770 plus destination fees and taxes. The standard Mazda warranty period applies of of 3 years/ 36,000 miles too! The car features a 2.5 L 4-cylinder which has 227 hp @ 5,000 rpm and I think has some nice pickup! I also love that this car has 3,500 lbs of towing capacity! 🙂

I am in the market for a new car. I do love a Mazada. the CX9 looks like a very stylish SUV, lots of great features. We will have to give it a closer look.

This looks like a really cool car to drive! I'll be in the market for a vehicle in the near future and this one will definitely be on my list to test drive!
