The transition to motherhood was one that I felt that I could never be prepared enough for! However, with tools like the ones I am about to feature, the transition has been a little easier. I’ve been around kids for the last 13 years due to having numerous nieces and nephews, and I thought that would’ve prepared me for Liam’s arrival. However, I learned quickly that this is now my son and I have primary responsibility for him. Yes, it’s overwhelming but totally and 100% worth it! Liam is not sleeping through the night as he is only 6 weeks old and is eating like a champ, so that is tiring. Unfortunately, I have to go back to work next week (major sad face) and my Mom will be watching him (thank goodness)!
Pampers makes the transition to motherhood just a little easier with their awesome products and fact sheets. I was given the opportunity to review a “New for Newborn” gift set complete with Pampers Swaddlers newborn diapers, Pampers Wipes, a Diaper Organizer Caddy, and a Diaper Genie with refills! This set is a phenomenal resource for new Moms as it gives you the essentials in an organized fashion for your little one.
We didn’t think that we would need or use a Diaper Genie– my sister had one for my nephew and she didn’t use it too much. However, we started to use the Diaper Genie Elite that Pampers sent us and we are in love… it is so easy to use, a great way to store all of those dirty diapers and we will definitely continue to use it. The Diaper Caddy is downstairs in our living room which is easier than having to take Liam upstairs to change his diaper. We simply keep it stocked with the essentials and it is easily accessible for those diaper changes downstairs. Plus, everything looks organized. As for the Pampers Swaddlers diapers– they surely came in handy as Liam did need newborn sized diapers and we are still using them at 6 weeks old (he was a tiny little one). We LOVE how they work for him– no irritation, easy to use including the wetness indicator, etc. The Pampers wipes are phenomenal– nice and thick and soft and effective! We are fans of the entire New Mom kit they sent us and have since then purchased Pampers products for Liam.
Additionally, Pampers sent me some resources regarding their products and a stool color chart which provides easy reference for those times when we have a million and one questions!
One of them is the Stool Color Reference Chart which can be found HERE!
The other is a Diaper Rash Info-Graphic which can be found HERE!
Both of these have been helpful as we’ve embarked on this new journey with Liam. Thankfully, he hasn’t suffered with diaper rash and his stool has been normal for a breastfed baby. However, I did reference these documents a few times to ensure it was all good.

I think the hardest part was realizing that someone was dependent on you 24 hours a day and that you had no free time for yourself.

I haven't transitioned into motherhood quite yet as I am due in March but I am sure the lack of sleep will be rough.

Balancing sleep, being a wife and friend, housework, and caring for a newborn was hard for awhile.
