My husband and I are the proud owners of two black labs, Keira & Mack! Both of our labs are about 2 years old and they’re as energetic as ever. Finding toys and treats for them usually poses a challenge as they don’t just like to play with something, they like to destroy it. Keira and Mack do like to try new things and we try to find things that are suitable for them, natural and fun. Petco asked me to review some of their dog products and I know my dogs were overjoyed. In fact, when the box came, they were smelling it like it was theirs. As you can see above, they received a lot of products to review.

We’ve been pacing them on the items we received but have definitely found that they like everything. We received toys, treats and pet care products. I would say that the Bumi toys are their favorite along with the Whimzies treats. Garrett and I really enjoyed allowing them to have a tough and versatile toy like the Bumi which actually floats and is easy to toss, Keira LOVES to fetch. We also liked the Burt’s Bees items– the shampoo has an awesome fresh scent to it and the cream is great for the itchy spots on their skin. One product that we’ve used a lot of are the wipes– Keira decided that it was a great time to go get dirty, and since it was raining outside we were able to wipe her off and help give her a nice clean smell without giving her a full bath. Overall, the variety of items that was sent to us from Petco were items that we had never seen or hadn’t ever tried. 

Here are some great details on the products:

– Whimzies are all natural dog treats, low in fat, gluten free and vegetarian. Also, these treats help remove tartar and plaque as well as cleans teeth and freshens breath. These toys are meant to hold your pet’s interest and have a fun shape (we got alligator and hedgehog) with a great taste. We found that the dogs LOVED these treats, but that they were gone in a split second (told you Keira eats everything). However, they surely enjoyed them and we felt okay giving them the treats!

– Bumi  is a recyclable floating Zogoflex dog toy for fetch, Handcrafted in the U.S.A., Certified Safe and Guaranteed to Last. Būmi is designed for fetch or tug-of-war. Made with buoyant Zogoflex material, Būmi is guaranteed to go the distance. Keira & Mack absolutely love these toys, they can each have one (even though they always want the same one) and we are constantly playing fetch with Keira.

– Burt’s Bees Oatmeal Dog Shampoo is a great smelling shampoo that is made with colloidal oat flour and nature’s finest ingredients. The shampoo is a gentle cleanser yet powerful to condition dry skin and clean effectively. I personally love Burt’s Bees products so I was excited for the time to try this out. We LOVED it and I felt okay about using it on our dogs– it is for sensitive skin so I wasn’t worried about them having a reaction.

– Burt’s Bees Soothing Skin Cream provides powerful soothing & cooling to skin irritations while moisturizing and hydrating skin. This product features natural eucalyptus oil and honey. We haven’t had much of an issue with itchy skin, but we tried it out on a spot that Keira kept scratching. I noticed that the smell is sweet and Keira seemed to like the soothing that it provided. My parents have 2 chihuahuas that have irritated skin sometimes so I’m giving a container to my Mom to try out. 

– PawGanics Natural Grooming Wipes for Dogs offer an alcohol and lanolin-free formula which is gentle enough for everyday use. The wipes clean your dog from head to toe while deodorizing too! They come in a resealable package and we absolutely love these. The scent that they offer is fresh and it truly does provide gentle deodorizing. I think these will definitely remain in our pet cabinet. 

 

– West Paw Mouse Toy– We received 2 of these toys and Keira and Mack did love them. Even though they weren’t full of stuffing, it didn’t take long for Keira & Mack to get a hole in them! 🙁 However, I think that they lasted a little longer than normal toys for them so that’s exciting and they had fun. 

The box of toys we received from Petco were a great hit with our two labs and us. There are definitely products that we will continue to purchase for our dogs. 🙂 Have you tried any of these products?
