Disney’s Peter Pan Celebrates 65 Years + The Signature Collection Release!! #PeterPanBluray #HanSoloEvent

I was invited by Disney to attend the #PeterPanBluray and #HanSoloEvent. Although all of my expenses are paid, all opinions are my own.

Disney's Peter Pan Celebrates 65 Years + The Signature Collection Release!! #PeterPanBluray #HanSoloEvent

Peter Pan is celebrating its 65th Anniversary and is joining The Signature Collection this month. I remember watching Peter Pan numerous times when I was a kid so when I heard that it was being released as part of The Signature Collection, I knew that I had to learn more!!

While in Los Angeles last month, we were able to learn more about this Signature Collection and even go around the Disney lot on a fun scavenger hunt.  We also were able to check out original artwork at the Animation Research Library from Peter Pan!

Additionally, we were sent a copy of the new Bluray collection to check out and I’m excited to share more with you!

Peter Pan Anniversary Edition

Let your imagination soar past “the second star to the right and straight on till morning” as Peter Pan makes its debut into the Walt Disney Signature Collection.

All it takes is faith, trust and a dash of pixie dust, and this timeless classic will launch you on epic adventures in Never Land as it sparkles with legendary animation, extraordinary songs and captivating bonus extras.

The Signature Collection includes the DVD, Bluray and Digital version of Peter Pan with 7.1 DTS-HD Master Audio.

Watching this anniversary edition brings back so many childhood memories. My husband and I both loved Peter Pan as kids and were excited to share it with our son for the first time. This edition has some awesome bonus features including Stories from Walt’s Office, A Darling Conversation with Wendy and John, Sing Alongs and more! Our favorite was the Sing Along as our son loves music.

Bonus Features

The Signature Collection of Peter Pan brings some awesome bonus features. Here is a brief listing of what you can expect:

  • Stories from Walt’s Office: “Think of the happiest things, it’s the same as having wings”. One thing you’ll notice inside Walt Disney’s office are all of the models and pictures of airplanes. Walt loved planes and was an aficionado of flying. As a continuation of the “Stories from Walt’s Office” series, we’ll soar into the world of one of Walt’s favorite pastimes and look at the history behind the company airplane he used to scout Central Florida looking for the perfect place to build his second theme park.
  • A “Darling” Conversation with Wendy & John: Kathryn Beaumont and Paul Collins – Join Disney Legend Kathryn Beaumont (the voice of Wendy) and Paul Collins (the voice of John) as they reunite for the first time in many years to reminisce and discuss their experiences working on Peter Pan, meeting Walt Disney and learning to fly… literally.
  • “You Can Fly” – A new “Oke” rendition and graphic look of the classic Disney song, “You Can Fly,” with fun lyrics on screen and lots of your favorite “Peter Pan” characters.
  • “Never Smile at a Crocodile” – A new “Oke” rendition and graphic look of the deleted song, “Never Smile at a Crocodile”, with fun lyrics on screen and highlighting the relationship between Captain Hook and Tick- Tock the Crocodile.

After checking out these awesome bonus features, it reminded me of my time in Walt’s office seeing his little models and airplanes! This is an awesome bonus feature. Plus, I loved seeing Wendy & John reunite and discuss their time in Peter Pan! Like I said above, our son really liked the sing along!!

This is my fifth all-time favorite Disney film. Mr. Disney really went all out, and distilled the best elements of JM Barrie’s source play and novel. Honestly, I can’t say enough things about it. Characters you really care about, soaring songs, not to mention fall-down funny! A musical masterpiece of an adventure. And how lucky was Kathryn Beaumont, who got to do the voice for two Disney heroines : Wendy and Alice!
