When we bought our first house, we decided that we also wanted to add a dog to our family. We looked around and a lady that I knew had just announced the arrival of some black lab mix puppies – we went and saw them and we picked out Keira! She has been a fun dog to add to our family – full of energy…. even at 3. Then, about a year after that we were looking for another dog- this time we went with a local rescue and got another black lab mix, Mack, and he was in Texas. They transported him to Virginia and we went to pick him up. He certainly has a unique personality, and we love him! He and Keira get along very well and they’re both full of energy.

When we had just Keira we were feeding her a dog food and it was working well for her, however, when we got Mack his stomach was really sensitive so the food didn’t work for him. We asked our vet and she recommended us to get something that had meat as the first ingredient and not much ‘filler’ – that’s when we found Purina One. We started them on the Chicken & Rice formula and they both did great. Now, we feed them the Lamb & Rice and they are doing fantastic on that as well. We looked at the ingredients in the food and knew right away that it would be good for them. The vet always tells us how healthy their coats look when we take them in. We wanted to feed our dogs the best food that we could without spending a ton of money.

The Purina ONE SmartBlend True Instinct Grain-Free Formula Dry Dog Food is made with real chicken, sweet potatoes and other high quality ingredients. As soon as the goodie box arrived, the dogs could smell it. The bag that was sent as a sample was the perfect size for our dogs and as soon as I put it in their bowls they scarfed it up ;). The dogs did not have any issues with their stomachs and loved the food. I love the grain free formula and love seeing that chicken is the main ingredient. We feed them the basic brand of Purina One SmartBlend but I think we may upgrade to the new True Instinct formula as the grain-free is very appealing to me. Plus, the dogs love it.
