Valentine’s Day is a special day outlined to show the ones you love how much you love and appreciate them! How do you celebrate? While my husband and I don’t do anything extravagant, we do celebrate our love for each other and he usually brings me flowers and we have a delicious dinner at home. You can go out to eat or go to a movie, or you can stay home and relax. However you choose to celebrate, ensure that you share your love for others with them. Don’t let a day go by to tell those you love that you love and appreciate them!
Delicious treats are another thing that you can make for those you love. A special breakfast or a dessert work just fine! I love themed treats too, so I’ve teamed up with my friends to bring you some delicious Valentine’s Day Sweets. All of these sweets are perfect for Valentine’s Day and you’re the first to see them! Check them all out below and then scroll down to see some delicious Strawberry Cupcakes that I’ve whipped together!
Strawberry Cupcakes
These cupcakes are not only good for Valentine’s Day but are also good for the strawberry lover in your circle! Make these delicious cupcakes for those you love this Valentine’s Day!
Ingredients
- 12 of your favorite vanilla cupcakes
- ½ cup butter, softened
- 2 cups icing sugar
- 1 tbsp strawberry jam
- 2-3 tbsp milk
- 1 large strawberry
- 4-5 oz. red fondant
- 1-2 oz. green fondant
Yields: One dozen decorated cupcakes
Ensure that your cupcakes are cool to the touch before decorating.
Using an electric mixer, beat together butter, icing sugar, jam and milk. Mix until ingredients are smooth and well-combined. If the buttercream is too runny, add icing sugar, one tablespoon at a time.
Dice your strawberry and add into your buttercream mixture. Fold well.
Using a piping bag with a large star tip, frost each cupcake.
Separate your red fondant into 12 1-inch spheres. Give it a pointed end and flatten the top (this will give it its strawberry-like shape).
Take a small pinch of your green fondant and place on top of each red fondant shape. Then take smaller pieces of the green fondant and roll it to look like a stem. Place 1 to 3 on top of each strawberry fondant.
Using a toothpick, pierce small holes all over the strawberry fondant.
Top each cupcake with your fondant creation. Serve and enjoy!
