Crockpot Mac and Cheese is cheesy, buttery and just overall heavenly. On the hunt for a perfect Mac and Cheese in the crockpot? Here is the one you’re going to want to save!

Our household loves macaroni and cheese. While our 2 kiddos love the boxed kind, my husband and I wanted to find the best recipe for crockpot Mac and Cheese. You know, the kind using elbow noodles, tons of cheese and is just delicious. We found it and I’m excited to share it with you!

This is the recipe that I make and take to all of the potlucks. It is the most requested dish when I sign up for a potluck at work, church or family gathering. Sometimes we make it just for our family and it surely doesn’t last long. This Mac and Cheese is super cheesy and definitely a winner.

When I was searching for the best Crockpot Mac and Cheese recipe, I failed….. several times to be honest. My husband told me to “give up” on trying because I was wasting time and money. I kept going and finally got it right with this recipe!

How do you make Crockpot Mac and Cheese?

Not only is this recipe delicious, it is simple to assemble. First, you’re going to want a large crockpot. I’d recommend at least a 6qt. maybe even an 8qt. Believe me, you’ll want a large batch of this. Next, if you don’t use these slow cooker liners, I highly recommend them!

Prep your Crockpot

Let’s prep our slow cooker and set that aside. Place a slow cooker liner inside and spray it generously with cooking spray. Set it aside while you prep the other ingredients.

Cook your elbow noodles according to the package directions and drain.

Time to prep the noodles

While the noodles are cooking, take your cheese blocks and dice them up so you have a delicious cheese mountain.

Lots of cheese

Slice your butter too.

Butter too!

Your ingredients are prepped so lets start assembling. Take your prepared crockpot and layer 1/3 of the noodles in the bottom. Add 1/3 of the cheeses, 1/3 of the butter and some salt and pepper.

Hi Mandy! I have not tried to cut back the cheese amount. I would still add the same amount of milk and butter if you do cut back the cheese.
