I was given the opportunity to receive and review the book “The One” by Ryan and Amanda Leak. I was really excited to receive this book as I love to read about the awesome love stories that we know only God can craft. Garrett and I’s love story is unique just like each and every one of you – a love story only God can create and write.

If you’re looking for average, go ahead and put down this book. No hard feelings. Most people will admit that they are looking for an amazing love story. We’ve all seen those couples, the ones holding hands or whispering to each other as they stare into one another’s eyes as if they share an awesome secret. We watch them and wonder, what’s up with those two?

We never anticipated becoming one of “those couples.” When we met, we just worked on listening to God and preparing ourselves for the story he planned for us. What we learned and want to share is that no matter what your relationship status may be, this amazing story begins with you.

In this book we share more than the events happening around “The Surprise Wedding.” We share our triumphs and our mistakes, both before and after that day. You’ll learn healthy habits you can start practicing today, ones that will help you lay the groundwork for an incredible marriage later. God has something amazing in mind for you, but he can’t get you there without your help.

I truly loved taking the time to read through this book, it was uplifting and encouraging. Although I am in an amazing marriage, I have friends that are still longing for the ONE that God has for them. This book told the story of Ryan and Amanda and really did show how God made their love story just perfect. This book helped me to learn how to encourage and support those who long for the God-designed love story. I plan to pass it along to a friend of mine, I think she will enjoy it as well. If you’re looking for a positive, uplifting book to show how sovereign our God is, you’ll want to grab this. If you know someone in a relationship and you long to share this true love with them, you’ll want to grab it. 🙂 It would make a great gift, or a nice read for yourself.
