Garrett and I wanted to celebrate Valentine’s day a little differently this year with something in a local area. We weren’t sure exactly what we wanted to do, but we knew that we didn’t want to celebrate the traditional way. This is when I turned to TripAdvisor to look for area attractions that would fit both of our tastes. We decided to head to Annapolis which is about 1.5 hours from us for a Seafood Crawl. TripAdvisor helped me plan, book and go on this fun and delicious Seafood Crawl.

When I started to look around for things to do, I knew that TripAdvisor was a trusted resource with millions of traveler reviews. We have used this feature many times in previous travel or even around our immediate local area. TripAdvisor is not only offering these amazing reviews, but they’re offering the ability to book attractions, tours and experiences on TripAdvisor.

TripAdvisor is the world’s largest provider of tours, activities and attractions, with more than 56,000 bookable experiences in 2,500 destinations worldwide. TripAdvisor Attractions offers something for every kind of traveler; book everything from walking tours, skip-the- line access and theatre tickets to hot air balloon safaris and Everest base camp treks.

I was able to go onto the TripAdvisor app  (you can also go to TripAdvisor.com) and share the location that we were interested in visiting and then choose from various categories like hotels, vacation rentals, flights, restaurants, things to do and forums. We chose the “things to do” category and looked around at the various activities in Annapolis MD. I also checked areas like Baltimore, MD and Washington, DC as they’re not too far from us.

Garrett and I looked through these together and were very happy to see that we could now book that attraction right on the app and read the reviews of those who have experienced that attraction. The Annapolis Seafood Crawl stood out to us the most, so we booked that!

Our vouchers were added to my 3or account and all of the details of the tour was right at my fingertips. We even received reminder emails in the few days leading up to our event. Then, we headed out to our tour and waited for our guide at the Visitor’s Center. All of the details we needed including the e-vouchers, phone number for the tour company, arrival time, reviews, and more were in the TripAdvisor app!

We arrived at the Annapolis Visitor’s Center and waited for our tour guide inside. While it was a rainy day, we were ready to have a good time. Our tour guide arrived, Griffin, and immediately took us out to get the tour started. We started out with a bit of the history of Annapolis even though this isn’t a history tour. Griffin drove us around to different areas within Annapolis and pointed out things to us along the way. Then, he took us to Boatyard Bar & Grill for our first Seafood Crawl Stop. We had some delicious fried oysters!! I had eaten oysters as a kid but Garrett has never had them. Neither of us had tried fried oysters before and we loved them!!

We kept driving around and went over to Eastport and learned some more history and more about oysters. Did you know that Annapolis is the breeding ground for oysters? You may think, just as we did, that the Maryland Blue Crab was what Maryland was most famous for. It was neat to hear the historical stories that go along with the different areas of Annapolis. We were able to get out of the car and look around a bit too, but then the rain started up again so we headed over to our next stop.

We arrived at the Loews Annapolis and went inside to BAROAK Cookhouse & Taproom where we had our 2nd stop. Griffin told us that their signature dish had won a food competition for the chef. Garrett and I got to try mussels for the first time and they were pretty darn good!! We learned from Griffin that good mussels come from the preparation of them!

We drove around more of Annapolis and then arrived at our final stop on the Seafood Crawl, Harry Browne’s, which was named after the owner’s uncle and is about to celebrate its 40th anniversary. The waitress brought Garrett and I each a bowl of Cream of Crab soup and oyster crackers. Oh my goodness was this good!!

Here is where our tour concluded, we headed back to the Visitor’s Center where Griffin gave us some coupons for Annapolis and thanked us for coming on the tour!

About Urban Adventures

We learned that Urban Adventures is an International Company with numerous franchises around. The next time you’re traveling somewhere, look into taking a tour with Urban Adventures. They do different tours depending on the area. For example, in Annapolis they offer a 5 hour history tour and the 2 hour seafood crawl. The seafood crawl doesn’t just go to these three restaurants that we visited, they visit a variety in Annapolis so the tour may be different for you.

I didn't know Trip Advisor had an app. Of course they would have one though. We use the website all the time. I'm going to download the app.

I'll have to check out TripAdvisor I can never figure out anything to do. I would love the Urban Adventure 5 hour Historic Tour. I enjoy history and read history books (with a story involved of course.)
