The weekends are the time that we get to sleep in and enjoy our time together. Our weekends usually start with some sleeping in– something that we long for all week long as we both get up pretty early for work. Oh and we know that the days of sleeping in will most likely go away when our little man arrives this fall. We enjoy the time we get to snuggle with our 2 black labs, Keira & Mack, and the time we get to spend together at church on Sunday mornings. Our weekends are definitely a great time for us and we usually splurge and make a pretty awesome meal (grilling is usually something we try to do).
This weekend was no different! While we did get some cleaning done– the typical stuff like laundry, vacuuming, dusting, etc. we also were able to spend time with our doggies at the park, with friends at their baby shower, and just together at church and thereafter. We decided on Sunday morning that we would grill the ribs that we purchased on our last trip to Wegman’s grocery store. Along with those ribs, I had stumbled across a recipe from Ree Drummond, The Pioneer Woman, for Bacon Wrapped Shrimp, and we also decided on corn on the cob (grilled of course). After church, we ran a few errands, took the dogs to the park to play with the tennis ball and then came home to relax a bit before we made dinner.
Our dinner was absolutely delicious, and I wanted to share the amazing recipes that we altered to make our dinner delicious. Since we’re from Maryland, Old Bay Seasoning goes on almost anything– my husband is always adding it to something we’re cooking and it surely is delicious. He loves to grill and I am not objecting to that either! :).
Oh dinner was absolutely delicious– we’ve found some recipes that we’ll keep forever! The ribs were grilled with Old Bay, Sweet Baby Ray’s Honey Barbecue Sauce and some Mesquite seasoning as well as some salt. The corn (originally corn on the cob) was wrapped in aluminum foil and cooked on the grill and the shrimp….well, here’s the recipe:
