We just got home from our trip to Las Vegas and had a blast discovering Nevada for my 30th birthday. One thing I’ve always wanted to do is to go zip lining and we were given the awesome opportunity to do this while in Vegas with Flightlinez Bootleg Canyon!

Our day started out with picking up our rental car from the Las Vegas Strip. This was optional as Flightlinez offers a free shuttle from the strip with a booked tour. We chose to get a rental because we wanted to explore more sights like the Hoover Dam while in Boulder City. We arrived at the office which is about 30 minutes from the Las Vegas strip and checked in for our tour. Before we loaded on the bus, we learned all of the safety features and got in our gear!
Our Experience
The bus ride to the canyons was so fun as the tour guides were hilarious with all kinds of jokes and random history about the area. They were sure to point out some places that are great to take photos, take a group photo and give us as much water as we needed/wanted. Although I was nervous about zip lining, the team of flight instructors helped me relax. When we got to the bus drop off, we had to carry some more gear up the mountain. However, the team was able to help if we couldn’t carry it. Further, we stopped along the way to take water breaks.
The day we went zip lining was HOT, like 118°…… so we were sure to drink a lot of water. Oh and wear sunscreen, lots of it. We finally reached the top and the 2 flight instructors who would be at the landing deck went down the zip line first. Then, the first few people that were going to go down were loaded into the harnesses. The flight instructors were sure to go over safety and some tips before they let you go. Then, woohoo….. we were let go and then watched for the flags at the bottom of the zip line for instructions on braking! Phew! What a thrill……
Recommendation
There are a total of four zip lines on this tour and you do get a break in between. Some of the zip lines are close together and others are a little bit of a walk. No matter what, you are required to wear tennis shoes and be comfortable with walking uphill and upstairs for this activity. The great thing, though, is that the tour guides are there to help you and don’t rush you in any way.
