Family Friendly Trip to Dutch Wonderland! @FunAtDW #DWFamilyFun #DutchWonderland

We were given complimentary admission tickets to Dutch Wonderland. All opinions expressed in this post are my own.

We are always looking for fun family adventures that we can all enjoy. We love being able to find a place that is within driving distance and making a day trip of it. I went to college near Lancaster PA and always passed Dutch Wonderland on my way to see my (now) husband in West Virginia where he attended college. I had never been to the amusement park before but have always wanted to go. When we had Liam we wanted to do more fun family activities with him and our little family and Dutch Wonderland was on that list. A few weeks ago we traveled up there and took my in-laws along for the ride for a day trip and had a blast.

Since this was our first time visiting the park, we used a park map and some research that I did prior to going. While you do have to pay to park, the all day parking fee was only $5! I think that is VERY reasonable for an amusement park. The walk to the park wasn’t too long, the bag check and then gift shop were nice. You walked through the fun gift shop to get to the gates. I stopped by guest services with Liam to get the tickets and then we ventured into the park. We noticed right away that there is an easy color coding to the rides which show you which ones allow you to have a child on your lap, or which ones your child can go on unaccompanied. Liam is not even 2 yet so he didn’t get on any rides by himself but we did get on some as a family which were fun.

The park is so fun, employees are nice and it is a beautiful walk. In addition to the rides, there are also shows there with divers and all. We sat and watched one as a group and it was fun. If you sit on the benches at the bottom that are red you will get wet.

We didn’t sit there, and I am glad we didn’t as they surely got wet ;). We rode the train as a group and also the monorail. We just had a good time as a family. My in laws wanted to get on a water ride so we stayed behind and watched. How fun!

Dinosaur Village at Dutch Wonderland | ThisNThatwithOlivia.comI love that everything in the park – ride wise- is included. Some of the amusement parks that we visit charge you extra if you are not a season pass holder to go to ‘experiences’ in the park. Dutch Wonderland has it all right there and it was so fun to walk through and see all of the dinosaurs at Exploration Park! Liam really enjoyed watching them as they were moving around. Plus, after a day in the sun this part of the park was in the shade so it was a nice walk in the shade! Exploration Park is where you will encounter over 20 lifelike dinosaurs along Prehistoric Path and discover their story. Dig up past at the Dino Dig where history is uncovered every day, and then take a ride on the Sunoco Turnpike. Finish your visit to Exploration Island with a trip aboard the Gondola Cruise!

Liam fell asleep while we were in line for the Gondola Cruise! It was nice to sit and just ride around! Seeing the park as well as the campgrounds aboard this real boat was fun! The tour guide was great too.

Dutch Wonderland was a fun experience for all of us. I know that when Liam gets older he will be able to ride more rides and appreciate it more. We will be making a trip back. This park is catered to kids so there aren’t many rides for just adults. It was a fun day and I am glad we went. To show you our journey, here’s a fun video of our day at Dutch Wonderland.
